In Mexico everyday is ‘Day of the Dead’ (2017)
Miniature artist's book by Graciela Patron
I am interested in the memory that is constructed from a personal and subjective vision of events, the family memory that allows me to know who I am and who are the others, the social memory that tells the story of a certain time and place, the collective memory that is built based on the small stories of a community. However, memory is always an interpretation and from this perspective I propose to understand it as a fiction story. This is why I tend to work in book arts, the artist book in the traditional sense is the supreme support for depositing personal and collective stories. And from the artistic production, the artist book will assume this role as depository of fictions and container of memory.
